28 Therefore let us be grateful for receiving (A)a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus (B)let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, 29 for our (C)God is a consuming fire.

Sacrifices Pleasing to God

13 Let (D)brotherly love continue. (E)Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby (F)some have entertained angels unawares. (G)Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body. (H)Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge (I)the sexually immoral and adulterous. Keep your life (J)free from love of money, and (K)be content with what you have, for he has said, (L)“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say,

(M)“The Lord is my helper;
    (N)I will not fear;
what can man do to me?”

28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken,(A) let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,(B) 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.”[a](C)

Concluding Exhortations

13 Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.(D) Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers,(E) for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.(F) Continue to remember those in prison(G) as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.

Marriage should be honored by all,(H) and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.(I) Keep your lives free from the love of money(J) and be content with what you have,(K) because God has said,

“Never will I leave you;
    never will I forsake you.”[b](L)

So we say with confidence,

“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
    What can mere mortals do to me?”[c](M)
