Hebrews 12:6-8

6 For the Lord disciplines the one whom he loves,
and punishes every son whom he accepts.”[a]
7 Endure it for discipline. God is dealing with you as sons. For what son is there whom a father does not discipline? 8 But if you are without discipline, in which all legitimate sons[b] have become participants, then you are illegitimate and not sons.

Hebrews 12:6-8
New International Version
6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,(A)
and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”[a](B)
7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children.(C) For what children are not disciplined by their father? 8 If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline(D)—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all.
