Hebrews 12:7-9
New American Standard Bible 1995
7 It is for discipline that you endure; (A)God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8 But if you are without discipline, (B)of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9 Furthermore, we had [a]earthly fathers to discipline us, and we (C)respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to (D)the Father of [b]spirits, and (E)live?

Hebrews 12:7-9
New International Version
7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children.(A) For what children are not disciplined by their father? 8 If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline(B)—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. 9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits(C) and live!(D)
