Animal Sacrifices Insufficient

10 For the law, having a ^(A)shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, ^(B)can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. ² For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once ^[a]purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. ³ But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year.

¹⁴ For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being ^[a]sanctified.

¹⁶ So let no one ^(A)judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a ^[a]festival or a new moon or sabbaths, ^17 (B)which are a shadow of things to come, but the ^[b]substance is of Christ.

¹² For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law.

¹⁸ For on the one hand there is an annulling of the former commandment because of ^(A)its weakness and unprofitableness, ¹⁹ for ^(B)the law made nothing ^[a]perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of ^(C)a better hope, through which ^(D)we draw near to God.

²⁸ For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever.

⁶ But now ^(A)He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a ^(B)better covenant, which was established on better promises.
