Hebrews 11:38-40

³⁸ (people of whom the world was not worthy), ^(A)wandering in deserts, on mountains, and sheltering in caves and holes ^[a]in the ground.

³⁹ And all these, having ^(B)gained approval through their faith, ^(C)did not receive ^[b]what was promised, ⁴⁰ because God had ^[c]provided ^(D)something better for us, so that ^(E)apart from us they would not be made perfect.
