⁵ The inhabitants of Samaria tremble
    for ^(A)the calf^[a] of ^(B)Beth-aven.
Its people mourn for it, and so do its idolatrous priests—
    those who rejoiced over it and ^(C)over its glory—
    for it has departed^[b] from them.

    let not ^(B)Judah become guilty.
^(C)Enter not into ^(D)Gilgal,
    nor go up to ^(E)Beth-aven,
    and swear not, “As the Lord lives.”
