Hosea 13:12-14

¹²The iniquity of Ephraim is ^(A)bound up;
    his sin is ^(B)kept in store.
¹³^(C)The pangs of childbirth come for him,
    but he is an unwise son,
for at the right time he does not present himself
    ^(D)at the opening of the womb.

¹⁴^(E)I shall ransom them from the power of Sheol;
    ^(F)I shall redeem them from Death.^[a]
^(G)O ^(H)Death, where are your plagues?
    ^(I)O ^(J)Sheol, where is your sting?
    ^(K)Compassion is hidden from my eyes.

¹²The guilt of Ephraim is stored up,
    his sins are kept on record.^(A)
¹³Pains as of a woman in childbirth^(B) come to him,
    but he is a child without wisdom;
when the time^(C) arrives,
    he doesn’t have the sense to come out of the womb.^(D)

¹⁴“I will deliver this people from the power of the grave;^(E)
I will redeem them from death.^(F)
Where, O death, are your plagues?
Where, O grave, is your destruction?^(G)
