Hosea 13:12-14

Good News Translation

¹²“Israel's sin and guilt are on record, and the records are safely stored away. ¹³Israel has a chance to live, but is too foolish to take it—like a child about to be born, who refuses to come out of the womb. ¹⁴^(A)I will not save this people from the world of the dead or rescue them from the power of death. Bring on^[a] your plagues, death! Bring on^[b] your destruction, world of the dead! I will no longer have pity for this people.

New International Version

¹²The guilt of Ephraim is stored up,
    his sins are kept on record.^(A)
¹³Pains as of a woman in childbirth^(B) come to him,
    but he is a child without wisdom;
when the time^(C) arrives,
    he doesn’t have the sense to come out of the womb.^(D)

¹⁴“I will deliver this people from the power of the grave;^(E)
I will redeem them from death.^(F)
Where, O death, are your plagues?
Where, O grave, is your destruction?^(G)
