16 On that day, says the Lord, you will call me “my husband,” and no longer will you call me “my Baal.”[a] 17 For I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth, and they shall be mentioned by name no more.(A) 18 I will make for you[b] a covenant on that day with the wild animals, the birds of the air, and the creeping things of the ground, and I will abolish[c] the bow, the sword, and war from the land, and I will make you[d] lie down in safety.(B)

16 “In that day,” declares the Lord,
“you will call me ‘my husband’;(A)
you will no longer call me ‘my master.[a]’
17 I will remove the names of the Baals from her lips;(B)
no longer will their names be invoked.(C)
18 In that day I will make a covenant for them
with the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky
and the creatures that move along the ground.(D)
Bow and sword and battle
I will abolish(E) from the land,
so that all may lie down in safety.(F)
