²The revolters are ^(A)deeply involved in slaughter,
Though I rebuke them all.

⁹As marauders lie in ambush for a victim,^(A)
so do bands of priests;
they murder^(B) on the road to Shechem,
carrying out their wicked schemes.^(C)

⁹As bands of robbers lie in wait for a man,
So the company of ^(A)priests ^(B)murder on the way to Shechem;
Surely they commit ^(C)lewdness.
