2 Threshing floor and wine press will (A)not feed them,
And the new wine will fail [a]them.
3 They will not remain in (B)the Lord’s land,
But Ephraim will return to (C)Egypt,
And in (D)Assyria they will eat (E)unclean food.
4 They will not pour out drink offerings of (F)wine to the Lord,
(G)Their sacrifices will not please Him.
Their bread will [b]be like [c]mourners’ bread;
All who eat of it will be (H)defiled,
For their bread will be for [d]themselves alone;
It will not enter the house of the Lord.

New International Version
2 Threshing floors and winepresses will not feed the people;
the new wine(A) will fail them.
3 They will not remain(B) in the Lord’s land;
Ephraim will return to Egypt(C)
and eat unclean food in Assyria.(D)
4 They will not pour out wine offerings(E) to the Lord,
nor will their sacrifices please(F) him.
Such sacrifices will be to them like the bread of mourners;(G)
all who eat them will be unclean.(H)
This food will be for themselves;
it will not come into the temple of the Lord.(I)
