15 For (A)all things are for your sakes, that (B)grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

Seeing the Invisible

16 Therefore we (C)do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is (D)being renewed day by day. 17 For (E)our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 (F)while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

15 These things happened for your good. As more people receive God’s favor, they will give thanks for the shining-greatness of God.

Life Now—Life in Heaven

16 This is the reason we do not give up. Our human body is wearing out. But our spirits are getting stronger every day. 17 The little troubles we suffer now for a short time are making us ready for the great things God is going to give us forever. 18 We do not look at the things that can be seen. We look at the things that cannot be seen. The things that can be seen will come to an end. But the things that cannot be seen will last forever.

15 All of this has been done for you, so more and more people will know how kind God is and will praise and honor him.

Faith in the Lord

16 We never give up. Our bodies are gradually dying, but we ourselves are being made stronger each day. 17 These little troubles are getting us ready for an eternal glory that will make all our troubles seem like nothing. 18 Things that are seen don't last forever, but things that are not seen are eternal. This is why we keep our minds on the things that cannot be seen.

15 All these things are for you. And so the grace of God is being given to more and more people. This will bring more and more thanks to God for his glory.

Living by Faith

16 That is why we never give up. Our physical body is becoming older and weaker, but our spirit inside us is made new every day. 17 We have small troubles for a while now, but these troubles are helping us gain an eternal glory. That eternal glory is much greater than our troubles. 18 So we think about what we cannot see, not what we see. What we see lasts only a short time, and what we cannot see will last forever.

15 For (A)it is all for your sake, so that as (B)grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, (C)to the glory of God.

16 So we do not lose heart. (D)Though our outer self[a] is wasting away, (E)our inner self (F)is being renewed day by day. 17 For (G)this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 (H)as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
