8 Then I heard the (A)voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then (B)I said, “Here am I. Send me!” 9 And He said, “Go, and tell this people:
‘Keep on (C)listening, but do not understand;
And keep on looking, but do not gain knowledge.’
10 (D)Make the hearts of this people [a](E)insensitive,
Their ears [b]dull,
And their eyes [c]blind,
(F)So that they will not see with their eyes,
Hear with their ears,
Understand with their hearts,
And return and be healed.”

“‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding;
be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’(F)
10 Make the heart of this people calloused;(G)
make their ears dull
and close their eyes.[a](H)
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,(I)
understand with their hearts,
and turn and be healed.”(J)
