16 (A)Wash yourselves, (B)make yourselves clean;
(C)Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight.

17 Learn to do good;
(E)Seek justice,
Rebuke the oppressor,

(A)Perhaps the house of Judah will listen to all the disaster which I plan to carry out against them, so that every person will (B)turn from his evil way; then I will (C)forgive their wrongdoing and their sin.”

Then Jeremiah called (D)Baruch the son of Neriah, and Baruch wrote on a [a](E)scroll [b]at the dictation of Jeremiah all the words of the Lord which He had spoken to him. Jeremiah then commanded Baruch, saying, “I am [c](F)restricted; I cannot go into the house of the Lord. So you go and (G)read from the scroll, which you have (H)written [d]at my dictation, the words of the Lord [e]to the people at the Lords house on a day of (I)fasting. And you shall also read them [f]to all the people of Judah who come from their cities. (J)Perhaps their pleading will [g]come before the Lord, and everyone will turn from his evil way; for (K)great is the anger and the wrath that the Lord has pronounced against this people.”

It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.
