^2 (A)Listen, O heavens, and hear, O ^(B)earth;
For the Lord speaks,
“^(C)Sons I have reared and brought up,
But they have ^(D)revolted against Me.

²³ Your ^(A)rulers are rebels
And companions of thieves;
Everyone ^(B)loves a bribe
And chases after rewards.
They ^(C)do not ^[a]defend the ^[b]orphan,
Nor does the widow’s plea come before them.

⁹ For this is a ^(A)rebellious people, ^(B)false sons,
Sons who ^[a]refuse to ^(C)listen
To the ^[b]instruction of the Lord;

² “^(A)I have spread out My hands all day long to a ^(B)rebellious people,
Who walk in the way which is not good, ^[a]following their own ^(C)thoughts,
