as people gather abandoned eggs,
    so I gathered all the countries;^(G)
not one flapped a wing,
    or opened its mouth to chirp.^(H)’”

²⁶ “Make her drunk,^(A)
    for she has defied^(B) the Lord.
Let Moab wallow in her vomit;^(C)
    let her be an object of ridicule.^(D)

⁴² Moab will be destroyed^(A) as a nation^(B)
    because she defied^(C) the Lord.
