Isaiah 13:20-22
The Voice
20 It’ll never be inhabited again, and future generations will never call it home;
there Arab nomads won’t pitch their tents; shepherds won’t rest their flocks.
21 Only desert animals will occupy the deserted city;
owls will nest in their formerly swept-clean houses.
Mangy jackals and wild goats will roam among the rubble
and romp among the ruins.
22 Hyenas will prowl around and howl among its towers;
jackals will haunt its formerly palatial palaces;
Babylon’s time of destruction is coming; her days are numbered.

or lived in through all generations;
there no nomads(B) will pitch their tents,
there no shepherds will rest their flocks.
21 But desert creatures(C) will lie there,
jackals(D) will fill her houses;
there the owls(E) will dwell,
and there the wild goats(F) will leap about.
22 Hyenas(G) will inhabit her strongholds,(H)
jackals(I) her luxurious palaces.
Her time is at hand,(J)
and her days will not be prolonged.(K)
