^14 (A)The dead will not live, the ^[a]departed spirits will not rise;
Therefore You have ^(B)punished and destroyed them,
And You have wiped out all remembrance of them.

²¹ For behold, the Lord is about to ^(A)come out from His place
To ^(B)punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity;
And the earth will ^(C)reveal her bloodshed
And will no longer cover her slain.

⁶ From the Lord of hosts you will be ^(A)punished with ^(B)thunder and earthquake and loud noise,
With whirlwind and tempest and the flame of a consuming fire.

⁷ The days of ^(A)punishment have come,
The days of ^(B)retribution have come;
^[a]Let Israel know this!
The prophet is a ^(C)fool,
The ^[b]inspired man is ^(D)demented,
Because of the grossness of your ^(E)iniquity,
And because your hostility is so great.
