Isaiah 13:7-9
American Standard Version

7 Therefore shall all hands be feeble, and every heart of man shall melt: 8 and they shall be dismayed; [a]pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman in travail: they shall look in amazement one at another; their faces shall be faces of flame. 9 Behold, the day of Jehovah cometh, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger; to make the land a desolation, and to destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

7 Because of this, all hands will go limp,(A)
    every heart will melt with fear.(B)
8 Terror(C) will seize them,
    pain and anguish will grip(D) them;
    they will writhe like a woman in labor.(E)
They will look aghast at each other,
    their faces aflame.(F)

9 See, the day(G) of the Lord is coming
    —a cruel(H) day, with wrath(I) and fierce anger(J)—
to make the land desolate
    and destroy the sinners within it.
