^10 (A)Gladness and joy are taken away from the fruitful field;
In the ^(B)vineyards also there will be no cries of joy or jubilant shouting,
No ^(C)treader treads out wine in the presses,
For I have made the shouting to cease.

^(B)The land mourns;
For the grain is ruined,
The new wine has dried up,
Fresh oil has ^[a]failed.

¹² The ^(A)vine has dried up
And the fig tree has withered;
The ^(B)pomegranate, the ^(C)palm also, and the ^(D)apple tree,
All the trees of the field have dried up.
Indeed, ^(E)joy has dried up
From the sons of mankind.
