¹² The Lord, the Lord Almighty,
    called you on that day^(A)
to weep^(B) and to wail,
    to tear out your hair^(C) and put on sackcloth.^(D)

³⁷ Every head is shaved^(A)
    and every beard^(B) cut off;
every hand is slashed
    and every waist is covered with sackcloth.^(C)

¹⁸ They will put on sackcloth^(A)
    and be clothed with terror.^(B)
Every face will be covered with shame,
    and every head will be shaved.^(C)
