⁴ Therefore I say, “Turn your eyes away from me,
Let me ^(A)weep bitterly,
Do not ^[a]try to comfort me concerning the destruction of the daughter of my people.”

¹⁷ But ^(A)if you will not listen to it,
My soul will ^(B)sob in secret for such pride;
And my eyes will bitterly weep
And flow down with tears,
Because the ^(C)flock of the Lord has been taken captive.

¹⁸ Their ^(A)heart cried out to the Lord,
“O ^(B)wall of the daughter of Zion,
Let your ^(C)tears run down like a river day and night;
Give yourself no relief,
Let ^[a]your eyes have no rest.
