“O Tyre, you have said, ‘I am perfect in beauty.’
4 “Your borders are in the heart of the seas;
Your builders have perfected your beauty.
5 “They have [c]made all your planks of fir trees from (C)Senir;
They have taken a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for you.
6 “Of (D)oaks from (E)Bashan they have made your oars;
With ivory they have [d]inlaid your deck of boxwood from the coastlands of (F)Cyprus.
7 “Your sail was of fine embroidered linen from Egypt
So that it became your [e]distinguishing mark;
Your [f]awning was [g](G)blue and purple from the coastlands of (H)Elishah.
8 “The inhabitants of Sidon and (I)Arvad were your rowers;
Your (J)wise men, O Tyre, were [h]aboard; they were your pilots.
9 “The elders of (K)Gebal and her wise men were with you repairing your seams;
All the ships of the sea and their sailors were with you in order to deal in your merchandise.
10 “(L)Persia and (M)Lud and (N)Put were in your army, your men of war. They hung shield and helmet in you; they set forth your splendor. 11 The sons of Arvad and your army were on your walls, all around, and the [i]Gammadim were in your towers. They hung their shields on your walls all around; they perfected your beauty.
12 “Tarshish was your customer because of the abundance of all kinds of wealth; with silver, iron, tin and lead they paid for your wares. 13 (O)Javan, (P)Tubal and (Q)Meshech, they were your traders; with the (R)lives of men and vessels of bronze they paid for your merchandise. 14 Those from (S)Beth-togarmah gave horses and war horses and mules for your wares. 15 The sons of (T)Dedan were your traders. Many coastlands were [j]your market; (U)ivory tusks and ebony they brought as your payment. 16 (V)Aram was your customer because of the abundance of your [k]goods; they paid for your wares with (W)emeralds, purple, (X)embroidered work, fine linen, coral and rubies. 17 Judah and the land of Israel, they were your traders; with the wheat of (Y)Minnith, [l]cakes, honey, oil and balm they paid for your merchandise. 18 (Z)Damascus was your customer because of the abundance of your [m]goods, because of the abundance of all kinds of wealth, because of the wine of Helbon and white wool. 19 Vedan and Javan paid for your wares [n]from Uzal; wrought iron, cassia and [o]sweet cane were among your merchandise. 20 (AA)Dedan traded with you in saddlecloths for riding. 21 (AB)Arabia and all the princes of Kedar, they were [p]your customers for (AC)lambs, rams and goats; for these they were your customers. 22 The traders of (AD)Sheba and Raamah, they traded with you; they paid for your wares with the best of all kinds of (AE)spices, and with all kinds of precious stones and gold. 23 Haran, Canneh, (AF)Eden, the traders of Sheba, Asshur and Chilmad traded with you. 24 They traded with you in choice garments, in clothes of [q]blue and embroidered work, and in carpets of many colors and tightly wound cords, which were among your merchandise. 25 The (AG)ships of Tarshish were [r]the carriers for your merchandise.
And you were filled and were very [s]glorious
In the heart of the seas.
26 “Your rowers have brought you
Into (AH)great waters;
The (AI)east wind has broken you
In the heart of the seas.
27 “Your wealth, your wares, your merchandise,
Your sailors and your pilots,
Your repairers of seams, your dealers in merchandise
And all your men of war who are in you,
With all your company that is in your midst,
Will fall into the heart of the seas
On the day of your overthrow.

3 Say to Tyre,(A) situated at the gateway to the sea,(B) merchant of peoples on many coasts, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:
“‘You say, Tyre,
“I am perfect in beauty.(C)”
4 Your domain was on the high seas;
your builders brought your beauty to perfection.(D)
5 They made all your timbers
of juniper from Senir[a];(E)
they took a cedar from Lebanon(F)
to make a mast for you.
6 Of oaks(G) from Bashan
they made your oars;
of cypress wood[b] from the coasts of Cyprus(H)
they made your deck, adorned with ivory.
7 Fine embroidered linen(I) from Egypt was your sail
and served as your banner;
your awnings were of blue and purple(J)
from the coasts of Elishah.(K)
8 Men of Sidon and Arvad(L) were your oarsmen;
your skilled men, Tyre, were aboard as your sailors.(M)
9 Veteran craftsmen of Byblos(N) were on board
as shipwrights to caulk your seams.
All the ships of the sea(O) and their sailors
came alongside to trade for your wares.
10 “‘Men of Persia,(P) Lydia(Q) and Put(R)
served as soldiers in your army.
They hung their shields(S) and helmets on your walls,
bringing you splendor.
11 Men of Arvad and Helek
guarded your walls on every side;
men of Gammad
were in your towers.
They hung their shields around your walls;
they brought your beauty to perfection.(T)
12 “‘Tarshish(U) did business with you because of your great wealth of goods;(V) they exchanged silver, iron, tin and lead for your merchandise.
13 “‘Greece,(W) Tubal and Meshek(X) did business with you; they traded human beings(Y) and articles of bronze for your wares.
14 “‘Men of Beth Togarmah(Z) exchanged chariot horses, cavalry horses and mules for your merchandise.
15 “‘The men of Rhodes[c](AA) traded with you, and many coastlands(AB) were your customers; they paid you with ivory(AC) tusks and ebony.
16 “‘Aram[d](AD) did business with you because of your many products; they exchanged turquoise,(AE) purple fabric, embroidered work, fine linen,(AF) coral(AG) and rubies for your merchandise.
17 “‘Judah and Israel traded with you; they exchanged wheat(AH) from Minnith(AI) and confections,[e] honey, olive oil and balm(AJ) for your wares.(AK)
18 “‘Damascus(AL) did business with you because of your many products and great wealth of goods.(AM) They offered wine from Helbon, wool from Zahar 19 and casks of wine from Izal(AN) in exchange for your wares: wrought iron, cassia(AO) and calamus.
20 “‘Dedan(AP) traded in saddle blankets with you.
21 “‘Arabia(AQ) and all the princes of Kedar(AR) were your customers; they did business with you in lambs, rams and goats.
22 “‘The merchants of Sheba(AS) and Raamah traded with you; for your merchandise they exchanged the finest of all kinds of spices(AT) and precious stones, and gold.(AU)
23 “‘Harran,(AV) Kanneh and Eden(AW) and merchants of Sheba, Ashur(AX) and Kilmad traded with you. 24 In your marketplace they traded with you beautiful garments, blue fabric, embroidered work and multicolored rugs with cords twisted and tightly knotted.
25 “‘The ships of Tarshish(AY) serve
as carriers for your wares.
You are filled with heavy cargo
as you sail the sea.(AZ)
26 Your oarsmen take you
out to the high seas.
But the east wind(BA) will break you to pieces
far out at sea.
27 Your wealth,(BB) merchandise and wares,
your mariners, sailors and shipwrights,
your merchants and all your soldiers,
and everyone else on board
will sink into the heart of the sea(BC)
on the day of your shipwreck.
