² And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest;
    as with the male slave, so with his master;
    as with the female slave, so with her mistress;
as with the buyer, so with the seller;
    as with the lender, so with the borrower;
    as with the creditor, so with the debtor.^(A)

³¹ the prophets prophesy falsely,
    and the priests rule as the prophets direct;^[a]
my people love to have it so,
    but what will you do when the end comes?^(A)

⁹ They have deeply corrupted themselves
    as in the days of Gibeah;
he will remember their iniquity;
    he will punish their sins.^(A)
