Good News Translation

11 They will reach out their hands as if they were trying to swim, but God will humiliate them, and their hands will sink helplessly. 12 He will destroy the fortresses of Moab with their high walls and bring them tumbling down into the dust.

New International Version

11 They will stretch out their hands in it,
    as swimmers stretch out their hands to swim.
God will bring down(A) their pride(B)
    despite the cleverness[a] of their hands.
12 He will bring down your high fortified walls(C)
    and lay them low;(D)
he will bring them down to the ground,
    to the very dust.
