¹⁵ Because you have said, “We have made a ^(A)covenant with death,
And with ^[a]Sheol we have made a ^[b]pact.
^(B)The ^[c]gushing flood will not reach us when it passes by,
Because we have made ^(C)falsehood our refuge and we have ^(D)concealed ourselves with deception.”

³ For your ^(A)hands are defiled with blood,
And your fingers with wrongdoing;
Your lips have spoken ^(B)deceit,
Your tongue mutters wickedness.
^4 (C)No one sues righteously and ^(D)no one pleads ^[a]honestly.
They ^(E)trust in confusion and speak lies;
They ^(F)conceive trouble and give birth to disaster.
