14 Therefore, I will again confound these people
with wonder after wonder.(A)
The wisdom of their wise will vanish,(B)
and the perception of their perceptive will be hidden.

15 Woe to those who go to great lengths
to hide their plans from the Lord.(C)
They do their works in the dark,
and say, “Who sees us? Who knows us?” (D)
16 You have turned things around,
as if the potter were the same as the clay.
How can what is made say about its maker,
“He didn’t make me”?(E)
How can what is formed
say about the one who formed it,
“He doesn’t understand what he’s doing”?

15 Woe to those who go to great depths
    to hide(D) their plans from the Lord,
who do their work in darkness and think,
    “Who sees us?(E) Who will know?”(F)
16 You turn things upside down,
    as if the potter were thought to be like the clay!(G)
Shall what is formed say to the one who formed(H) it,
    “You did not make me”?
Can the pot say to the potter,(I)
    “You know nothing”?(J)
