Shall the potter be considered [a]as equal with the clay,
That (A)what is made would say to its maker, “He did not make me”;
Or what is formed say to him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?

27 Isaiah cries out concerning Israel, “(K)Though the number of the sons of Israel be (L)like the sand of the sea, it is (M)the remnant that will be saved; 28 (N)for the Lord will execute His word on the earth, [b]thoroughly and [c]quickly.” 29 And just as Isaiah foretold,
“(O)Unless (P)the Lord of [d]Sabaoth had left to us a [e]posterity,
(Q)We would have become like Sodom, and would have [f]resembled Gomorrah.”
30 (R)What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness, even (S)the righteousness which is [g]by faith; 31 but Israel, (T)pursuing a law of righteousness, did not (U)arrive at that law. 32 Why? Because they did not pursue it [h]by faith, but as though it were [i]by works. They stumbled over (V)the stumbling stone, 33 just as it is written,
“(W)Behold, I lay in Zion (X)a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense,
(Y)And he who believes in Him (Z)will not be [j]disappointed.”
