18 On that day the deaf will hear(A)
the words of a document,
and out of a deep darkness
the eyes of the blind will see.
19 The humble will have joy
after joy in the Lord,
and the poor people will rejoice(B)
in the Holy One of Israel.(C)
20 For the ruthless one will vanish,
the scorner will disappear,(D)
and all those who lie in wait with evil intent
will be killed—

and out of gloom and darkness(C)
the eyes of the blind will see.(D)
19 Once more the humble(E) will rejoice in the Lord;
the needy(F) will rejoice in the Holy One(G) of Israel.
20 The ruthless(H) will vanish,(I)
the mockers(J) will disappear,
and all who have an eye for evil(K) will be cut down—
