19 (A)The humble also shall increase their joy in the Lord,
And (B)the poor among men shall rejoice
In the Holy One of Israel.
20 For the [a]terrible one is brought to nothing,
(C)The scornful one is consumed,
And all who (D)watch for iniquity are cut off—
21 Who make a man an offender by a word,
And (E)lay a snare for him who reproves in the gate,
And turn aside the just (F)by empty words.

19 Once more the humble(A) will rejoice in the Lord;
the needy(B) will rejoice in the Holy One(C) of Israel.
20 The ruthless(D) will vanish,(E)
the mockers(F) will disappear,
and all who have an eye for evil(G) will be cut down—
21 those who with a word make someone out to be guilty,
who ensnare the defender in court(H)
and with false testimony(I) deprive the innocent of justice.(J)
