¹⁶ You will winnow^(A) them, the wind will pick them up,
    and a gale^(B) will blow them away.^(C)
But you will rejoice^(D) in the Lord
    and glory^(E) in the Holy One^(F) of Israel.

⁷ I will winnow^(A) them with a winnowing fork
    at the city gates of the land.
I will bring bereavement^(B) and destruction on my people,^(C)
    for they have not changed their ways.^(D)

² I will send foreigners^(A) to Babylon
    to winnow^(B) her and to devastate her land;
they will oppose her on every side
    in the day^(C) of her disaster.
