For in that day every man shall (A)throw away his idols of silver and his idols of gold—(B)sin, which your own hands have made for yourselves.

“Then Assyria shall (C)fall by a sword not of man,
And a sword not of mankind shall (D)devour him.
But he shall flee from the sword,
And his young men shall become forced labor.
(E)He shall cross over to his stronghold for fear,
And his princes shall be afraid of the banner,”
Says the Lord,
Whose fire is in Zion
And whose furnace is in Jerusalem.

    a sword, not of mortals, will devour(E) them.
They will flee before the sword
    and their young men will be put to forced labor.(F)
Their stronghold(G) will fall because of terror;
    at the sight of the battle standard(H) their commanders will panic,(I)
declares the Lord,
    whose fire(J) is in Zion,
    whose furnace(K) is in Jerusalem.
