18 It is true, Lord, that Assyrian kings have devastated all these countries,[a] 19 and have thrown their gods into the fire—but they are not gods, but rather the products[b] of human hands, mere wood and stone. So the Assyrians[c] destroyed them. 20 So now, Lord our God, save us from his oppressive[d] hand, so that all kingdoms on earth may know that you alone, O Lord, are God.”[e]

18 “It is true, Lord, that the Assyrian kings have laid waste all these peoples and their lands.(A) 19 They have thrown their gods into the fire(B) and destroyed them,(C) for they were not gods(D) but only wood and stone, fashioned by human hands.(E) 20 Now, Lord our God, deliver(F) us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth(G) may know that you, Lord, are the only God.[a](H)”
