37 Then Sennacherib king of Assyria departed and returned home and lived at (A)Nineveh. 38 And as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, Adrammelech and Sharezer, his sons, struck him down with the sword. And after they escaped into the land of (B)Ararat, (C)Esarhaddon his son reigned in his place.

37 So Sennacherib(A) king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew. He returned to Nineveh(B) and stayed there.

38 One day, while he was worshiping in the temple(C) of his god Nisrok, his sons Adrammelek and Sharezer killed him with the sword, and they escaped to the land of Ararat.(D) And Esarhaddon(E) his son succeeded him as king.(F)
