Amplified Bible

18 
“For Sheol cannot praise or thank You,
Death cannot praise You and rejoice in You;
Those who go down to the pit cannot hope for Your faithfulness.
19 
“It is the living who give praise and thanks to You, as I do today;
A father tells his sons about Your faithfulness.
20 
“The Lord is ready to save me;
Therefore we will play my songs on stringed instruments
All the days of our lives at the house of the Lord.”

Isaiah 38:18-20
New International Version

18 For the grave(A) cannot praise you,
    death cannot sing your praise;(B)
those who go down to the pit(C)
    cannot hope for your faithfulness.
19 The living, the living—they praise(D) you,
    as I am doing today;
parents tell their children(E)
    about your faithfulness.

20 The Lord will save me,
    and we will sing(F) with stringed instruments(G)
all the days of our lives(H)
    in the temple(I) of the Lord.
