Isaiah 41:27-29

27 “The first news for Zion: here they come,”
or, “I will give Jerusalem a herald of good news.”
28 When I look, there is not one,
not one of them to give counsel,
to make an answer when I question them.
29 Ah, all of them are nothing,
their works are nought,
their idols, empty wind!

27 I was the first to tell(A) Zion, ‘Look, here they are!’
I gave to Jerusalem a messenger of good news.(B)
28 I look but there is no one(C)—
no one among the gods to give counsel,(D)
no one to give answer(E) when I ask them.
29 See, they are all false!
Their deeds amount to nothing;(F)
their images(G) are but wind(H) and confusion.
