    and die of thirst.

³⁸ A drought on^[a] her waters!^(A)
    They will dry^(B) up.
For it is a land of idols,^(C)
    idols that will go mad with terror.

“See, I will defend your cause^(A)
    and avenge^(B) you;

    and make her springs dry.
