46 ^(A)Bel has bowed down, Nebo stoops over;
Their images are consigned to the beasts and the cattle.
The things ^[a]that you carry are burdensome,
A load for the weary beast.

² “^(A)Declare and proclaim among the nations.
Proclaim it and ^(B)lift up a standard.
Do not conceal it but say,
‘^(C)Babylon has been captured,
^(D)Bel has been put to shame, ^[a]Marduk has been ^[b]shattered;
Her ^(E)images have been put to shame, her idols have been shattered.’
