Isaiah 55:5-7
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

5 Behold, you [a][Israel] shall call nations that you know not, and nations that do not know you shall run to you because of the Lord your God, and of the Holy One of Israel, for He has glorified you.

6 Seek, inquire for, and require the Lord while He may be found [claiming Him by necessity and by right]; call upon Him while He is near.

7 Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He will have love, pity, and mercy for him, and to our God, for He will multiply to him His abundant pardon.

  1. Isaiah 55:5 The identification of the one here addressed is uncertain. A proportionately large number of authorities believe it to be Israel, as here indicated, but other interpreters think it is the Messiah [the second David], or David as His representative.

5 Surely you will summon nations(A) you know not,
    and nations you do not know will come running to you,(B)
because of the Lord your God,
    the Holy One(C) of Israel,
    for he has endowed you with splendor.”(D)

6 Seek(E) the Lord while he may be found;(F)
    call(G) on him while he is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake(H) their ways
    and the unrighteous their thoughts.(I)
Let them turn(J) to the Lord, and he will have mercy(K) on them,
    and to our God, for he will freely pardon.(L)
