Isaiah 59:13-15 1599 Geneva Bible (GNV)

13 In trespassing and lying against the Lord, and we have departed away from our God, and have spoken of cruelty and rebellion, conceiving and uttering out of the heart [a]false matters.

14 Therefore [b]judgment is turned backward, and justice standeth far off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.

15 Yea, truth faileth, and he that refraineth from evil, maketh himself [c]a prey: and when the Lord saw it, it displeased him, that there was no judgment.

Isaiah 59:13-15 New International Version (NIV)

13 rebellion and treachery against the Lord,
    turning our backs on our God,
inciting revolt and oppression,
    uttering lies our hearts have conceived.
14 So justice is driven back,
    and righteousness stands at a distance;
truth has stumbled in the streets,
    honesty cannot enter.
15 Truth is nowhere to be found,
    and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey.

The Lord looked and was displeased
    that there was no justice.
