Isaiah 6:11-13
Lexham English Bible
11 Then I said, “Until when, Lord?”
And he said,
“Until the cities lie wasted without inhabitant,
and houses without people,
and the land is ruined and a waste,
12 and Yahweh sends the people far away,
and the abandonment is great in the midst of the land.
13 And even if only a tenth part remain,[a] again she will be destroyed[b]
like a terebinth or like an oak,
which although felled, a tree stump remains in them.
The seed of holiness will be her tree stump.”
Footnotes
- Isaiah 6:13 Literally “still in her a tenth”
- Isaiah 6:13 Literally “and she will again and she will be to burn”

New International Version
11 Then I said, “For how long, Lord?”(A)
And he answered:
“Until the cities lie ruined(B)

until the houses are left deserted(C)
and the fields ruined and ravaged,(D)
12 until the Lord has sent everyone far away(E)
and the land is utterly forsaken.(F)
13 And though a tenth remains(G) in the land,
it will again be laid waste.(H)
But as the terebinth and oak
leave stumps(I) when they are cut down,
so the holy(J) seed will be the stump in the land.”(K)
