²⁵ The wolf and the lamb will feed together,^[a]
and the lion will eat straw like the ox,^(A)
but the serpent’s food will be dust!^(B)
They will not do what is evil or destroy
on My entire holy mountain,”^(C)
says the Lord.

⁶ Therefore, a lion from the forest will strike them down.^(A)
A wolf from an arid plain will ravage them.
A leopard^(B) keeps watch over their cities.
Anyone who leaves them will be torn to pieces
because their rebellious acts are many,^(C)
their unfaithful deeds numerous.^(D)

¹⁸ On that day I will make a covenant for them
with the wild animals, the birds of the sky,
and the creatures that crawl on the ground.^(A)
I will shatter bow, sword,
and weapons of war in the land^[a](B)
and will enable the people to rest securely.^(C)

⁶ When they had pasture,
they became satisfied;^(A)
they were satisfied,
and their hearts became proud.^(B)
Therefore they forgot Me.^(C)
7 So I will be like a lion^(D) to them;
I will lurk like a leopard^(E) on the path.
⁸ I will attack them
like a bear robbed of her cubs
and tear open the rib cage over their hearts.
I will devour them there like a lioness,^(F)
like a wild beast that would rip them open.
⁹ I will destroy you, Israel;
you have no help but Me.^[a](G)
