²³ And it will be in that day, ^(A)that every place where there used to be one thousand vines, valued at ^[a]one thousand shekels of silver, will become ^(B)briars and thorns. ²⁴ People will come there with bows and arrows because all the land will be briars and thorns.

⁹ behold, I will ^(A)send and take all the families of the north,’ declares Yahweh, ‘and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, ^(B)My servant, and will bring them against this land and against its inhabitants and against all these surrounding nations; and I will ^[a]devote them to destruction and ^(C)make them an object of horror and of hissing and an everlasting waste place.

³ therefore prophesy and say, ‘Thus says Lord Yahweh, “^[a]For good reason they have made you ^(A)desolate and bruised you from every side, that you would become a possession of the rest of the nations, and you have been taken up in the ^[b](B)speech of their tongue and the rumors of the people.”’”
