Isaiah 8:11

New International Version

¹¹This is what the Lord says to me with his strong hand upon me,^(A) warning me not to follow^(B) the way of this people:

¹¹For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,

⁸The lion^(A) has roared^(B)—
who will not fear?
The Sovereign Lord has spoken—
who can but prophesy?^(C)

⁸The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord God hath spoken, who can but prophesy?

¹⁶For when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, since I am compelled to preach.^(A) Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!

¹⁶For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
