The Reign of Jesse’s Offspring^(A)

¹² Then speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, saying:

²⁶ But ^(A)you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, ^[a]as I said to you. ^27 (B)My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. ²⁸ And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. ^29 (C)My Father, ^(D)who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. ^30 (E)I and My Father are one.”

¹⁶ And I will pray the Father, and ^(A)He will give you another ^[a]Helper, that He may abide with you forever— ^17 (B)the Spirit of truth, ^(C)whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you ^(D)and will be in you.

²⁹ For whom ^(A)He foreknew, ^(B)He also predestined ^(C)to be conformed to the image of His Son, ^(D)that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. ³⁰ Moreover whom He predestined, these He also ^(E)called; whom He called, these He also ^(F)justified; and whom He justified, these He also ^(G)glorified.

God’s Everlasting Love

³¹ What then shall we say to these things? ^(H)If God is for us, who can be against us? ^32 (I)He who did not spare His own Son, but ^(J)delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? ³³ Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? ^(K)It is God who justifies. ^34 (L)Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, ^(M)who is even at the right hand of God, ^(N)who also makes intercession for us. ³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ As it is written:

^37 (P)Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor ^(Q)principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, ³⁹ nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹⁰ For we are ^(A)His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

³⁰ And ^(A)do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

^23 (A)having been born again, not of ^[a]corruptible seed but ^[b]incorruptible, ^(B)through the word of God which lives and abides ^[c]forever,
