⁶ Their webs will not become clothing,
Nor will they ^(A)cover themselves with their works;
Their ^(B)works are works of wrongdoing,
And an ^(C)act of violence is in their ^[a]hands.

⁷ Both your own ^(A)wrongdoings and the wrongdoings of your fathers together,” says the Lord.
“Because they have ^(B)burned incense on the mountains
And ^(C)scorned Me on the hills,
Therefore I will ^(D)measure their former work ^[a]into their laps.”

² You who hate good and love evil,
Who ^(A)tear off their skin from them
And their flesh from their bones,
³ Who ^(B)eat the flesh of my people,
Strip off their skin from them,
Smash their bones,
And ^(C)chop them up as for the pot,
And as meat in a cauldron!”
⁴ Then they will ^(D)cry out to the Lord,
But He will not answer them.
Instead, He will ^(E)hide His face from them at that time
Because they have ^(F)practiced evil deeds.
