¹⁸ I will open rivers on the barren heights,^(A)
and springs in the middle of the plains.
I will turn the desert into a pool of water
and dry land into springs of water.^(B)

¹⁹ Look, I am about to do something new;^(A)
even now it is coming. Do you not see it?
Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness,^(B)
rivers^[a] in the desert.
²⁰ The animals of the field will honor Me,
jackals and ostriches,
because I provide water in the wilderness,
and rivers in the desert,^(C)
to give drink to My chosen people.

¹⁸ If only you had paid attention to My commands.
Then your peace would have been like a river,^(A)
and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.^(B)
