²⁴ Therefore, ^(A)as a tongue of fire consumes stubble,
And dry grass collapses in the flame,
So their ^(B)root will become ^(C)like rot, and their blossom ^[a]blow away like dust;
For they have ^(D)rejected the Law of the Lord of armies,
And discarded the word of the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁹ By the ^(A)wrath of the Lord of armies the ^(B)land is burned,
And the ^(C)people are like fuel for the fire;
No ^(D)one spares his brother.

¹¹ Lord, Your hand is lifted up, yet they ^(A)do not see it.
^[a]They see ^(B)Your zeal for the people and are put to shame;
Indeed, ^[b](C)fire will devour Your enemies.

¹³ “You who are far away, ^(D)hear what I have done;
And you who are near, ^[c]acknowledge My might.”
^14 (E)Sinners in Zion are terrified;
^(F)Trembling has seized the godless.
“Who among us can live with ^(G)the consuming fire?
Who among us can live with everlasting ^(H)burning?”
