54 ^(A)“Sing, O barren one, who did not bear;
    break forth into singing and cry aloud,
    you who have not been in labour!
For the children of ^(B)the desolate one ^(C)will be more
    than the children of her who is married,” says the Lord.

¹⁴ But Zion said, ^(A)“The Lord has forsaken me;
    my Lord has forgotten me.”

^15 (A)Whereas you have been forsaken and hated,
    with no one passing through,
^(B)I will make you majestic for ever,
    a joy from age to age.

^4 (A)You shall no more be termed ^(B)Forsaken,^[a]
    and your land shall no more be termed Desolate,^[b]
(C)but you shall be called ^(D)My Delight Is in Her,^[c]
    and your land Married;^[d]
for the Lord delights in you,
    and your land shall be married.
