⁶ And foreigners^(A) who bind themselves to the Lord
    to minister^(B) to him,
to love the name^(C) of the Lord,
    and to be his servants,
all who keep the Sabbath^(D) without desecrating it
    and who hold fast to my covenant—
⁷ these I will bring to my holy mountain^(E)
    and give them joy in my house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and sacrifices^(F)
    will be accepted on my altar;
for my house will be called
    a house of prayer for all nations.^(G)”^(H)
8 The Sovereign Lord declares—
    he who gathers the exiles of Israel:
“I will gather^(I) still others to them
    besides those already gathered.”

¹⁷ Why, Lord, do you make us wander^(A) from your ways
    and harden our hearts^(B) so we do not revere^(C) you?
Return^(D) for the sake of your servants,
    the tribes that are your inheritance.^(E)

“As when juice is still found in a cluster of grapes^(A)
    and people say, ‘Don’t destroy it,
    there is still a blessing in it,’
so will I do in behalf of my servants;^(B)
    I will not destroy them all.

⁹ I will bring forth descendants^(A) from Jacob,
    and from Judah those who will possess^(B) my mountains;
my chosen^(C) people will inherit them,
    and there will my servants live.^(D)

“My servants will eat,^(A)
    but you will go hungry;^(B)
my servants will drink,^(C)
    but you will go thirsty;^(D)
my servants will rejoice,^(E)
    but you will be put to shame.^(F)
14 My servants will sing^(G)
    out of the joy of their hearts,
but you will cry out^(H)
    from anguish of heart
    and wail in brokenness of spirit.
¹⁵ You will leave your name
    for my chosen ones to use in their curses;^(I)
the Sovereign Lord will put you to death,
    but to his servants he will give another name.^(J)

¹⁴ When you see this, your heart will rejoice^(A)
    and you will flourish^(B) like grass;
the hand^(C) of the Lord will be made known to his servants,^(D)
    but his fury^(E) will be shown to his foes.
